Arbitrum
arbRank #95Arbitrum (ARB): top optimistic rollup by TVL, whose governance token captures little of the fees it enables.
Arbitrum (ARB) is an Ethereum layer-2 network that batches transactions off-chain as an optimistic rollup, posts compressed data back to Ethereum, and assumes those batches are valid unless a fraud proof challenges them within a dispute window. The design lets it inherit Ethereum's security while cutting fees to a fraction of mainnet, in an environment developers and users find nearly identical to Ethereum itself.
Ecosystem traction and what the ARB token governs
It has grown into the highest-TVL rollup, anchored by perpetuals venue GMX, lending market Radiant, Uniswap V3 and Gains Network. The ARB token, however, governs the Arbitrum DAO and treasury rather than capturing sequencer revenue directly, so network usage and token value are only loosely connected — a recurring critique of L2 governance tokens.
The bull and bear case for ARB
The bull case rests on Arbitrum staying the default home for Ethereum DeFi liquidity and eventually routing more value to ARB holders. The bear case is crowded competition from Optimism, Base and zk-rollups, plus a still-centralized sequencer. Holders are typically DeFi-native users treating ARB as a bet on L2 market share, not a yield instrument.
- 1. Choose an exchange. Pick a reputable exchange that lists ARB — among the venues we rate highest are Binance, OKX and Kraken.
- 2. Create & verify your account. Register, enable two-factor authentication, and complete identity verification (KYC).
- 3. Deposit funds. Add money by bank transfer, card, or a stablecoin, depending on what the exchange supports in your region.
- 4. Buy ARB. Search for ARB, choose a market or limit order, enter your amount, and confirm.
- 5. Secure your coins. For long-term holdings, withdraw ARB to a self-custody wallet you control rather than leaving it on the exchange.

Simple Crypto Signal does not provide financial advice. The bull case rests on Arbitrum staying the default home for Ethereum DeFi liquidity and eventually routing more value to ARB holders.
